James Keith is well aware of the needs of individuals and families in desperate need of emergency housing. Mr. Keith has had a solid and dynamic management career in the non-profit emergency housing industry with a proven track record in operations management, program development and administration, financial management, labor relations and negotiation. Additionally, Mr. Keith possesses a comprehensive knowledge of government policies, regulations and currently, is a seasoned Detective with New Jersey’s State Police where he garnered extensive law enforcement experience and expertise. Mr. Keith received his Bachelor of Science in Administration of Justice from Rutgers, The State University in May 1990. Inspired by his selection as Emergency Housing Director to manage the emergency housing program for Newark’s YMWCA, Mr. Keith successfully oversaw the management of 36 low income families and 90 single-units for welfare recipients. Mr. Keith’s solid work with non-profit emergency housing facilities and his combined management skills makes him uniquely qualified to serve on the YHMV Board. Through his service on the Board of Directors of the YHMV, Mr. Keith combines his non-profit emergency housing experience and stellar business management experience with his commitment to serve Veterans in need of permanent and transitional housing in Union County, New Jersey.
